Strengthening Civic Participation in Europe

From June 9 to 13 2025, Europe will hold its 7^th annual European Pro Bono Week. The Pro Week celebrates the role played by volunteer lawyers, across Europe, in supporting civil society and promoting access to justice for those in need.

During this week, events take place across the Continent to highlight and promote pro bono culture. PRO BONO Luxembourg Association will be organising a hybrid event at DLA Piper Luxembourg, on Wednesday, June 11 at 6 pm. The discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception.

European Pro Bono Week is co-organized by the European Pro Bono Initiative (which includes several international law firms), TrustLaw, PILnet, and the European Pro Bono Alliance (which includes several national pro bono clearinghouses and legal aid organizations across Europe).

Given the recent developments in several countries around the world, this year we would like to discuss the theme "Strengthening Civic Participation in Europe" to understand our role in an increasingly shrinking democratic space where civil society actors face increasing legal pressure, uncertainties and challenges.
